Every February, a wave of red sweeps across the country as women and those who support them dress in red to raise awareness for the #1 killer of women: heart disease. Go Red Day, held annually on the first Friday of February, is more than just a day to wear red. It's a powerful movement to empower women to take charge of their heart health.
Heart disease is often thought of as a "man's disease," but the truth is it affects 1 in 3 women. The signs are sometimes different from those in men and can be easily overlooked. That’s why education, awareness, and advocacy are critical.
On Go Red Day, we encourage everyone to:
Wear red to show support
Get informed about heart disease risks and symptoms
Encourage women in your life to get regular checkups and make heart-healthy choices
Together, we can help ensure that fewer lives are lost to heart disease—and more women are empowered to live longer, stronger lives.
Go red. Speak up. Save lives. ❤️
